The Fall 2014 Caring for Birthmothers Retreat was a huge success! We had 15 incredible birthmothers spend the weekend at the beautiful Golden Bear Lodge in West Salem, OH. The moms were able to share their adoption stories and pictures of their children, learn the history of adoption, gain a better understanding of the grief related to adoption, learn to recognize healthy vs. unhealthy relationships and enjoy craft activities. The women also enjoyed free time journaling and building friendships with other birthmothers. These moms have continued the relationships beyond the retreat and have become a strong support system for each other-they’ve even planned an outing together! The retreats have been such amazing and powerful events, we are already planning the spring retreat for April 10-12, 2015!

About the Birthmother Retreat:

Caring for Birthmothers features a weekend retreat to provide support for women who have made an adoption plan for their child. No matter where a birthmother is in her journey, we offer confidential support to all birthmothers. Our retreat encourages the building of a support network and resources among those who attend. Not only is the retreat for birthmothers, it was designed and is facilitated by birthmothers as well.
