Caring for Kids teamed up with Bikes 4 Kids again this year in identifying a child in foster care to receive a brand new Mountain Bicycle, helmet and water bottle. 10 year old Logan was surprised when his foster family told him they were going grocery shopping and he ended up on the Grand Stand to receive his new bike!
Caring for Kids was presented the Organization Award at the Summit for Kids Luncheon on August 16th. This award recognizes an organization that has created, managed or otherwise supported a sustainable program that has significantly contributed to children’s opportunities to learn and grow. This award was presented for our week-long horse camps we operate for children in the care and custody of Summit County Children Services. Caring for Kids operates the week-long horse camp twice each summer serving 12 children each week at Victory Gallop Horse Stable. Caring for Kids was the recipient of the August Dollar Days Sweepstakes Shopping Spree. A great big thank you goes to all who voted for us. We were able to purchase many, much needed school supplies for our kids in Foster Care! We use these school supplies to make sure our kids enter school with all new items no matter when they come into foster care. If you would like to help with this project, you can make a financial donation or donate some of our most needed items which right now are boxes of colored pencils, boxes of markers, dry erase markers, glue sticks, 1″ binders, and filler paper. For more options and details, please visit the Donate Now page on our website.
