Thank you for reading about us. We admire the love you have for your child and that you are considering creating an adoption plan. We are excited to become parents through adoption, as we have been unable to have a biological child. We know we will deeply love any child who comes into our lives.

Our names are Anthony and Liz and we met in college, quickly grew to become best friends, and have now been married 15 years. Liz manages a technology department for a local Metropark system and gets to spend time in the parks collecting geographical information. Anthony has been developing websites for local non-profit organizations. He is very much looking forward to being a stay-at-home dad.

Anthony enjoys board games, playing the piano, listening to music, and writing software. Liz likes to spend her free time weaving, sewing, reading, swimming and hiking. Simply spending time together and with our extended families is central to who we are and how we want to raise our child.

We live in an ethnically diverse neighborhood in NE Ohio with restaurants, shops, libraries, and a park with a sledding hill, a playground, and basketball and tennis courts. Liz swims regularly at a community center where she hopes to teach our child to swim. We look forward to raising a family in this neighborhood as it is more diverse and more interesting than the neighborhoods that we grew up in.

We have 10 nieces and nephews that we adore. We enjoy having them for overnight stays and taking them on trips to parks, museums, and zoos. From dinner “dates” and making igloos out of snow to teaching her niece to sew – Liz has special relationships with the kids. Liz and her mom have also made handwoven stuffed animals for the kids for the last 8 Christmases. Anthony enjoys teaching them to create websites and playing games with them. “Board game days” are a favorite way for us to spend time with our families.

We both have Master’s degrees and hope to instill a love of learning in our child and will provide a wide variety of educational opportunities. We can’t know yet what our child’s interests and dreams will be, so we will remain adaptable in meeting their educational needs – whether that is public or private, a specialized charter school, or homeschooling.

We are excited to develop a deeper connection as parents – to love and nurture a child, to share in their interests, to learn from them, as well as to share our interests with our child. We feel that we have a lot to offer and will do our best to encourage them to grow into a caring and fulfilled adult.

We believe that a child needs connection to their birthfamily, so we’re very interested in having some form of openness between our family and our child’s birthfamily. We imagine that an open adoption will enrich our own lives and possibly extend our own family. We hope openness will provide our child’s birthparents with a continuing relationship and the reassurance that their child is healthy and thriving.

Thank you for reading our letter. We know that you are facing difficult decisions while considering an adoption plan. If you would like to know more about us, we would be happy to meet you and answer any questions that you might have.
Wherever your heart leads you, we wish the best for you and your child.

Anthony & Liz
