We write this to you with open hearts and minds, and are forever grateful for your consideration. Although we cannot begin to understand what you’re feeling as you start your adoption plan, we respect your decision in taking this path and admire your courage. We would like to take this moment to thank you for allowing us to introduce ourselves so that you are able to get to know us better.

About Us, Our Journey
Our names are Brian and Andrea. We’ve been married for four years, and that’s just the beginning of our love story. We have known each other since junior high school. Brian always had a huge crush on Andrea but was too shy to say anything. After high school, we went our separate ways and like most graduates, lost contact with one another. Thirteen years later, we reconnected through Brian’s sister. Brian asked Andrea if she would like to take a ride on his Harley and the rest as they say “is history”. We’ve been together ever since creating amazing memories. Brian always reminds her, “I can’t believe I got to marry Andrea”. We celebrated our “I do’s” with our family and friends in 2014, in the unique setting of an old western town!

Our adventure was just getting started. In 2016 we were excepting our first child. We found out at 15 weeks that she was going to be born with Down syndrome. However, on October 26, three weeks before our due date, we said hello and goodbye to our baby girl, Danika. Although she was delivered at 8 months stillborn, she was still…born. Danika both entered our world and was sent to heaven in what felt like a blink of an eye. We truly believe that Danika would want us to open our home to another child and give them a wonderful life. We have so much love to give and adopting a child is where we want to give that love.

About Him, Patient and Protector
Brian is a dedicated Firefighter and Paramedic with over 20 years’ experience, starting as a cadet in high school. He is well-respected by both his coworkers and in the communities he serves. Brian wants to adopt a child and start a family of his own. He has a personality and a presence that kids naturally gravitate toward. He’s patient, respectful and genuinely interested in their well-being. This is the first-responder in him; the calling to protect and care for a child. It’s these character traits and work experience that will make Brian a great dad!

About Her, Caring and Nurturing
After graduating high school, Andrea attended college and got her bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design. Although an artist by heart, she decided to join the United States Navy and serve her country. Andrea has been a Sailor for almost 10 years and is currently the Funeral Honors Coordinator for Navy veterans and their families. She too wants to open up her heart and home to a child. Helping families through the funeral process for their loved one requires a level of patience and empathy that only a select few can manage with grace and compassion. The artistic side of Andrea however, is never lost. As her friends, families and Navy co-workers will tell you, holidays, birthday parties, family gatherings, games and crafts are her specialty. Added together, Andrea’s creative energy and genuine care and kindness for others, is what will make her a nurturing and loving mother.

About our Home/Pets, Family/Friends
We have two house cats that are lovable; one is lazy and loves to lay on everyone’s lap and the other is always running around and getting into things and acts more like a dog than a cat. We are both blessed to have amazing, loving families and friends that are supportive of our decision to adopt and are just as excited as we are to open their hearts and home to a child. We believe that family is one of the most important things we can offer. Our immediate families live in the same city which means she or he would be able to spend quality time with loving grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Our promise to you is that your child will be surrounded by so many people who can provide unconditional love, with her or his best interest at heart, always.
