Hi! We are Camilla and Nick. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family.
We hope this profile tells you a little about who we are and gives you a brief glimpse in to the love and joy we share. We are excited and hopeful to share this unconditional love with a child and are honored to be considered as adoptive parents. We wish you strength, hope and support with your decision and journey ahead.
We met ten years ago in somewhat unusual circumstances. While Camilla was finishing nursing school, she met Nick’s younger brother Steve (a now two-time cancer survivor) who was a patient on the pediatric oncology floor where she worked. Just before leaving that job to take a full-time nursing position on a different floor, Nick was cornered by a nurse and his brother who insisted he should ask for Camilla’s phone number… and he did! We started dating a couple weeks later and have been inseparable ever since. Nick proposed on the private balcony of our apartment overlooking Lake Erie in 2013. We were married in 2014 in our church and have continued our adventures since then.
We both grew up in Cleveland and have spent some time away from the city, but our families are here and that drew us back home. Both sets of our parents are still married (for 40+ years!) and live nearby. Our days and evenings are spent with family, friends and our French bulldog, Aubrey. We enjoy the outdoors, going kayaking, watching movies, traveling and trying new foods together.
Nick is the co-founder and president of an adolescent and young adult cancer patient and survivor magazine. He is 100% Greek and comes from a big fat Greek family. He has two brothers, one niece, and lots of aunts, uncles and cousins that we see at family functions all year long.
From Camilla’s Point of View: Since the day I met Nick I haven’t stopped laughing. He has a goofy sense of humor and takes joy in seeing other people smile. He is a kind and caring soul and has one of the most magnetic personalities you will ever find; people can’t help but want to be around him. He loves kids and has spent a lot of his free time coaching basketball at our church and teaching Sunday school. I know it is his dream to coach his children one day. He will be an incredible father and will give so much love to any child we welcome in to our lives.
Camilla is a pediatric nurse practitioner and has a very close immediate family. She has five siblings and 12 nieces and nephews, who we love spending time with.
From Nick’s Point of View: From the moment I met Camilla her smile and heart has lit up my life and everyone else that has had the pleasure of seeing it. The love Camilla shows her family and friends is infectious. Camilla has chosen professionally and personally to help sick children on a daily basis and her compassion for helping others is absolutely amazing. Camilla’s ultimate dream is to be a mother and I know she will be amazing at it.
About our Home/Pets
We have a two-year-old French bulldog who is an energetic creature that we adore. She brings a smile to everyone’s face, including ours because of her excitement about life. She is wonderful with children and is well known to everyone in our neighborhood. Our community is a lovely, diverse area that has a great public-school system, as well as access to lots of parks and children of all ages. We have lived in our home for four years, enjoy decorating for the holidays and hosting cookouts and get-togethers with our families and neighbors. We are excited to share this life, home and community with a child.
