About Us
We met in 2013 on the dance floor in downtown Willoughby, OH. From the dance floor to dinner and a movie later that week, we became instant friends, and our relationship grew with our love for good food, travel, adventure, and family. We were engaged in 2016 on a sunset cruise and got married in 2017 – a wedding our family and friends still rave about to this day! As we’ve built a life together, we center our lives around faith and family. Our favorite thing to do together is traveling. Travel is a huge blessing for us; we appreciate how exploring different cities, countries, and cultures teach us life lessons. Navigating marriage as an interracial couple has taught us a lot about being authentic, practicing compassion, showing empathy, seeing the beauty in differences, and sharing love found in the common ground. Raising our future kids with the same experiences, adventures, awareness, and appreciation in life is a journey we can’t wait to embark on.
About Chris:
Chris is the best friend to everyone he encounters. Besides being a fun-loving husband, brother, son, grandson, and friend, he is known for his optimism, and heart for serving others. Chris is a Director of Construction and an engineer by trade – he’s the one anyone can call to build or fix something with determination to figure out tough problems and always with a smile on his face. One thing about Chris that I adore is his steadiness – being born and raised in our area, I’ve witnessed him nurture friendships and relationships for decades – always being loyal, kind and the guy who shows up. Outside of managing construction projects across the state, Chris is down-to-earth and stays active with skateboarding with our dog in the neighborhood, hiking, and lots of snowboarding in the winter. Being one of 5 kids and a true “fun-cle” to our nieces, Chris is meant to be an awesome dad to our future kiddos.

Melanie is an amazing person who pushes others to be the best they can be. She is known for her limitless personality and always strives for the best for herself and those around her. Melanie is extremely adventurous, loves to travel, and explore new places. She has a witty sense of humor, plus her laugh is contagious and lifts the mood everywhere we go. She loves to dance and never backs down from an opportunity to try something new. Professionally, everyone turns to Melanie for advice and trusts she will be straight with them even if her response is not what they were hoping to hear. In 2023, she completed her masters in Organizational Development at Case Western Reserve University and she has used this wealth of knowledge to grow into a leader and an inspirational example. Melanie is a beautiful person inside and out and I have no doubt that she will be the most amazing and loving mom.

About our Home/Pets:
We’ve settled down in a quaint stone farmhouse in a quiet, established neighborhood full of empty nesters, young families with kids. Our neighborhood is a short walk from Lake Erie. We take walks in our neighborhood every day with our our 7 year old Chocolate Labradoodle, Mowgli. On sunny days, Chris will skateboard with Mowgli running alongside. He’s the dog that all the neighborhood kids recognize and love to say “hello” to. He will never turn down scratches on the head, treats or car rides, greeting everyone who comes to our door with his favorite toy of the day. Seeing how much Mowgli is adored by everyone he encounters, we can’t wait to see his unconditional love will grow when our family expands.
