Introduction- Hello and thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about us. We have been married for 8 years and together for 12. We met in college. We have one son, whom we adopted. He is 1 1/2 years old and keeps us on our toes!
About Us– We met in college when Stephanie was Pat’s tour guide. We started dating shortly after and have been together ever since. Some of our hobbies include traveling, watching the Cleveland Indians, watching TV shows together and spending time with our family and friends. We attend church regularly and also participate in a Bible study with some friends. Quite a bit of our time is spent volunteering in our community, mainly through 4-H. We are both club advisors and on the adult staff for 4-H Camp. We also participate in many other activities with 4-H. Stephanie’s extended family is very large and we are lucky to live close to many of them. We also have many friends that we are close to so we are “Uncle” Pat and “Aunt” Steph to quite a few little ones, on top of the 5 nephews and 2 nieces we already have. The reason we have chosen to adopt is because we had two children but each of them passed away before their first birthday from a rare genetic disease. We both wanted to be parents and know that we can provide the love and support to a child. We are so thankful to have been able to adopt our son and can’t wait to add another child to our family.
About Him– Pat runs his own business selling Pioneer seed to farmers and well as helps out on Stephanie’s family farm. Agriculture is big in our community and Pat loves getting to talk to the farmers as well as help out his father-in-law on the farm. He also enjoys coaching a youth baseball team that our nephew is on. Everywhere we go, kids flock to Pat. His personality just oozes out and kids love it. In our 4-H club, he is the Cloverbud advisor, so he leads kids ages 5-8. His group can’t wait to get to 4-H and see what they are doing each month. He is also on our Fairboard and helps with the Jr. Fairboard. Pat has a brother and sister who each have 2 kids.
About Her– Stephanie teaches high school Language Arts and Leadership. She is in her 8th year of teaching. She is lucky to teach at her alma mater and loves her job. She also helps coach the varsity volleyball team and is the advisor for Student Council. 4-H played a large part in her life growing up, so she continues to volunteer with the program to give back. Being around teenagers is her passion as she loves to see them go from young adults/children into true adults. She has been lucky to keep in touch with many of her students and see them be successful after high school. In her free time, she enjoys quilting and reading. About once a month, she gets together with her mom, her sister, and other ladies to quilt and work on projects. Stephanie has 2 sisters; one has 3 boys.
About our Home/Pets- We live very close to the school that Stephanie teaches at and just about 10 minutes about Stephanie’s parents and sister. Our home is a ranch style with 3 bedrooms. We moved into the house after we were married for a year. We own about 11 acres, many of them wooded. We have one corgi, Remy, who is 4 years old. He is wonderful with children and loves to cuddle with them, especially if they are willing to pet him. We live in a small community which we love because most people know each other, and we very much live the philosophy that it takes a village to raise a child.
