Dear Expectant Parent,
Thank you for considering adoption! We can only imagine the difficulty of sifting through these snapshots of our lives and trying to determine the best choice for you. With that in mind, we have worked hard to provide you with a simple but authentic overview of who we are as a family.
Brandon approaches life with practicality and good humor. He sees his job as a doctor of physical therapy as a way to enrich others’ lives and to provide for our family – but not as the meaning of his life. He’d rather be at home playing on the swing-set we built for Gideon, working in the yard, or watching Harry Potter with Kate.
Though she trained as a biologist, Kate has always desired to be a stay at home mom and raise our family. She spends the majority of her time nurturing, teaching, and keeping up with our son – and loves it. The joy she finds and the patience she has in being a mom will only multiply if we are blessed to increase our family. Outside of being a mom, Kate spends her time reading, cooking, baking, playing guitar, going to the gym, and doing any craft she can get her hands on.
Gideon is an inquisitive, red-headed toddler who never stops moving! He loves going to the zoo, the park, the library, playing in Nana and Granddad’s garden, and making everyone smile.
Since high school, Brandon has dreamed of having a big family and hoped that adoption would be a part of that. Kate hadn’t considered adoption until she started dating Brandon but took hold of that vision even before we were engaged. We love adoption because we believe it empowers women by increasing their number of birth plan choices and because we see it as a tangible way to express the love that God has for us as His children. We know that God is in control of our family, and we are trusting in Him throughout the adoption process.
One of the main aspects of our lives is our Christian faith. We attend church services every week and also participate in serving opportunities, Bible studies, and community groups. Another big part of our lives is family. Both sets of our parents and both of our siblings live nearby and we see them regularly. There is never a shortage of people to love on Gideon, and they’re all looking forward to having another little one to love. We live in a safe and quiet suburb in Northeast Ohio and plan to stay here for the rest of our lives.
We personally have come to see the value of an open adoption in enriching everyone involved, but we will respect whatever level of openness you seek.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about us. Please know that we are praying for you to have peace and clarity as you make your decision.
Brandon, Kate, and Gideon
