Emily & Scott

Scott & Amanda

We got married in 2015 and in 2016, we decided we were ready to start our family. We learned infertility treatments would be the only way we could get pregnant. Unfortunately, several cycles of IVF proved to be unsuccessful. We learned more about adoption and realized it would be perfect for us as we believe every child is a precious gift and would love to give a child a loving home.

We were matched through Caring for Kids with a beautiful baby boy in 2019.

We adopted Wesley in 2020 and have savored every moment of his life so far. Loving him deeply has led us to see the hope and possibility of adoption. We would love to share our hearts and home with another little one at this point in our lives. Thank you for taking the time to read our story – we look forward to hearing yours. Until then, here is more about our family.

ABOUT US

I knew Amanda was a special person the first time I met her.

On our first date, she opened up and shared many of her experiences and dreams. I was drawn to her drive and passion for helping people in need. I quickly learned that some of her best qualities are that she is extremely intelligent, she is fiercely loyal, but most of all she was born to be a mother. Anyone who knows her can attest to her love of children throughout her life. She is now a phenomenal mother to Wesley.

Amanda was raised in a Christian home with two loving parents. Her faith and values that she learned at a young age helped carry her through some challenging times, but she has always come out with a smile. She has so much love to give and it has been amazing to watch her become a loving, protective mama to Wesley.

about Amanda

Scott is the most special man I have ever met.

The night I met him, I knew he was “the one.” Conversation was so easy, and he was so kind, gentle, and compassionate.

He had a solid upbringing that taught him the value of hard work, the importance of strong morals and values, and the priority of faith. The nine years that we’ve known each other have been the best years of my life. I am so proud of Scott and feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have him as my husband and the father of our son.

He is so hands-on with Wesley and even takes him on frequent “adventures.” I can hear Wesley’s giggles across the house when they are playing together. When they arrive home from an outing, Wesley’s eyes light up as he tells me about it. Their relationship makes my heart smile.

ABOUT Scott

Wesley is our energetic and curious three year old.

He loves to be silly, and he is outgoing and kind. He’s brought so much joy into our lives and has only made us more sure of our calling to be parents. He is very playful and makes immediate friends with everyone. He’s sensitive, protective, and compassionate, and he would make a wonderful big brother.

We adopted him as an infant, and he brightens the lives of everyone we know. He’s the fan favorite in our family and was the first grandchild on both sides of our family.

about Son Wesley

We live an active life in the Northeast Ohio suburbs

Enjoying everything from local parks to community events. We love dining out and seeing everything that our community has to offer. A few of Wesley’s favorite kid-friendly places are: the playground one block from our house, all of our local Metroparks, the Zoo, various local libraries, his Kindermusik class, and the large indoor pool nearby where he takes swim lessons.

We have a puppy named Livie who loves to play and loves Wesley even more. She’s a big part of our lives, and we are excited to watch her grow up with Wesley and his sibling/s.

Holidays

Holidays mean so much to us. We have multiple family traditions on both sides of our families, and adding Wesley has only made our holidays that much more special. Our newest addition will surely be adored just as he is!

Hobbies

Scott enjoys gardening, home improvement projects, and golfing. Amanda enjoys decorating, writing, reading, entertaining, and making all types of arts and crafts. Both of us enjoy playing games, traveling, spending time with our friends and family, and of course, sharing experiences with Wesley each and every day.
