Hello! We are Eric, Lisa, and Ava. Thank you for considering us as you make an adoption plan for your child. We want you to know how much we respect and admire you for being so selfless, loving, and courageous. We can never begin to understand how difficult this decision is for you, but please know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers as you decide what is best for you and your family.
Adoption has a very special place in our hearts because of our daughter Ava. We have been praying for another child to join our family, and are full of hope that God has a plan for our family to grow again through adoption. There is nothing we want more than to have another child to love and for Ava to have a sibling to grow up with. We have so much joy and excitement in our hearts for the journey that we are on and for the precious baby that we are waiting to meet and love unconditionally.
We dated for 2 years before getting engaged. Eric showed up at Lisa’s school on a fire truck during a fire drill. He proposed to her in front of the entire school! We got married in 2013 and knew that we wanted to start a family right away. After a few years we realized that could be possible through adoption. We were filled with so much hope and anticipation as we waited for a child. Ava finally entered our lives on November 21, 2017. This was the greatest day of our lives. She is our whole world.
We love spending time together at home playing with Ava, watching movies, and having bonfires. We enjoy going on walks to the playground. Over the weekend we love taking Ava to visit the zoo and farms, and on trips to see new places.
I come from a large, Catholic family, and am the oldest of seven children. I have three brothers and three sisters. We are such a close family and I have so many wonderful memories with them and our parents.
Growing up I always wanted to be a teacher and loved to play “school” with my siblings and cousins. I went to college and earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching for 14 years now, and am a second grade teacher. I teach at a private Catholic school a few minutes from our house. I absolutely love the people I work with and the students and their families. They are like a second family to us. Ava is SO loved by everyone there and my students get so excited when she comes in to visit.
While I love teaching, being a mother was always what I prayed for most in life. Being Ava’s mom is the greatest blessing ever. She has brought us more joy and love than I ever imagined possible.
In my free time I love to spend time with Eric, Ava, our families, and friends. I also love to cook, decorate, and make Pinterest projects for Ava.
I have always wanted a big family and for Ava to have a sibling to grow up with. We have so much love to give another child and will be blessed beyond measure with him or her.
My parents moved to Ohio from Kentucky. Summers were spent visiting Kentucky to have family reunions with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. My relatives still live in the south, so our family loves when they come to visit.
Growing up, I loved playing sports and watching them with my dad. We would watch University of Kentucky basketball games together. I always knew I wanted to attend the University of Kentucky after high school. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. A few years later I decided to earn my paramedic and firefighter certifications. I currently work as a firefighter and nurse near Cleveland. I love the people I work with and being able to help and protect people in the community.
I am a huge sports fan. My favorite sport to watch and play is hockey. I play on an adult men’s team. Ava loves to watch hockey and football games with me. She cheers “Go hockey game!”
Being Ava’s dad is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. She is the best part of my day, every day. In my free time I love spending time with family and friends and taking Ava to the zoo and playground.
It was the happiest day of our lives. We had been praying for so many years for a child. She is more incredible than we ever could have imagined. Her birthmother is amazing and we have a wonderful relationship with her and her family. We share pictures and stories, and have visits with them.
Ava is the love of our lives and loved SO much by so many people. She is the sweetest little girl with the best personality. She loves to dance, sing songs, tell stories, and read books. She is very funny and her giggles are the sweetest sound. She adores animals especially horses and penguins. We take her to visit the zoo and farms all the time. Ava is very friendly and loves other children. She will LOVE being a big sister and having a sibling to play with and help take care of. She is very independent and wants to do everything herself, saying she is a “big girl”.
Ava’s hugs and kisses are the absolute best. She has brought more love, joy, and happiness into our lives than we could ever measure.
Our community is very close knit, with a cute downtown area that holds community events throughout the year, many parks, and excellent schools. Our home is at the end of a quiet road, with an elementary school across the street. Ava loves to play on the playground, go to story time at the library, and visit the bakery to pick out treats. There are several families on our street with young children that are always outside playing. We love our house. We have three bedrooms, and a fenced in backyard perfect for Ava and our dog to play in.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family. We would be honored to be parents to your precious baby. If chosen, we would love him or her unconditionally. He or she would be surrounded by endless amounts of love from family and friends. We would provide every opportunity possible and would encourage and support him or her throughout life. We would also make sure that your child knows how much you love him or her and the selfless decision you made. If you believe in your heart that our family would be a good fit for your child, we would love to meet you!
