And began dating as a Freshman (Kaitlyn) and Sophomore (Nick). We met during a high school band event, and began dating the next day. From the beginning, we have always enjoyed spending time together and maintained our relationship through our entire educational journey.
After graduation from high school, we both attended Kent State University and obtained our Bachelor of Music degree and then went on to obtain a Master of Music from the University of Akron and a Master of Education from Kent State University (yes, both of us…). Around the time that we both completed our first Master’s degree (in music) we officially tied the knot after 8 years of being together. We began to make plans to start a family and experienced some losses that have led us to our adoption journey. During this time we both made a transformational change to our health and fitness. This new healthy and fit lifestyle we live has reshaped our personal and family activities.
We’ve always known that we wanted to start a family of our own, and realized that we were meant to take a different path to achieve that dream. This journey lead us to exploring adoption and deciding this was the right path for us.
