Heather

Hello, my name is Heather, and this is my daughter McKinnley. I adopted McKinnley as an infant and being able to raise her as my daughter has been a dream come true. McKinnley is intelligent, outgoing, adventurous and is looking for someone to share her spunk with. Now that McKinnley is getting older she is done playing with her baby dolls and is telling me every day about how she is so excited to become a big sister so she can take care of her younger sibling and teach them everything she knows. I have no doubt that she would be the world’s greatest big sister in addition to being a positive role model. I believe that you reading through and viewing our profile is the next step for us to grow our family and make it complete. I know that this decision is not an easy one for you to make, but please know that my daughter and I appreciate you taking the time to read this profile.

My daughter is my whole world and

we have shared so many wonderful experiences together and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! The memories made from annual trips to visit my sister, vacations with Grandma and Grandpa, traveling with the gymnastics team, and our family holiday traditions will surely last a lifetime. Don’t get me wrong we love to travel and be around our close-knit family, but what we look forward to the most is the quality time spent together building forts, reading books, or eating ice cream on the couch watching a movie. My family has been extremely supportive through the adoption of my first daughter and are very much looking forward to myself and McKinnley adding one more addition to complete our family. Every day when I leave for work McKinnley and I draw hearts on each other’s hands – it is a symbol for each of us that even when we are apart and even though we will miss each other throughout the day, we know that we love each other and will see each other once her school and my work is done for the day. This way even when we are apart, we still have a part of each other with us – we have had this tradition since McKinnley was 3-years old and crying every day that I had to leave her at daycare because she missed me. To this day, we still draw hearts on each other’s hands as a sign of our love and care for each other.

ABOUT US

I have worked as a physical therapist

for many years helping my patients gain both strength and confidence to return home safely with their loved ones. My hobbies include traveling, spending time with family and friends, competing in gymnastics competitions, and making a mess in the kitchen with McKinnley as we bake homemade cookies. In my free time I also coach gymnastics as it has always been a passion of mine. I have been fortunate enough to coach a team at the Gymnastics Academy, where McKinnley also competes at, so I have the ability to spend time with her watching her do what she loves most. At the end of the day while I love being able to help my patients achieve their goals and get them home safely, and help my girls master their dismount from the beam, my biggest joy and achievement in life is being able to raise and be a mother to my daughter.

about Heather

My daughter and I live in a wonderful home with a large fenced in back yard.

We have several trees that have swings in them for children to enjoy. We live in a nice allotment around many other houses filled with children of all ages – the kids all love to play with each other outside whether it is sled riding in our back yard, riding bikes with each other, jumping on trampolines or swimming in the pool. There will be so many opportunities for friendships and memories to be made. We moved into this house about 3 years ago and have 1 empty bedroom waiting for 1 more addition to our family to come make it their own.

Something I remember doing with my Mom and sisters when we were younger was decorating the house for the different holidays that would be coming up – and now my daughter shares this same excitement with me, we love to put up decorations and make the house look festive.

My daughter absolutely loves animals – currently we have 3 cats. One she has named Jingle Bell because he was gifted to her for Christmas. Another is named Malley, she had lived on my friends farm but was hit by a car and had to have her back leg amputated however despite this she does so well moving around and is living her best life now in our home being warm and playing with so many toys. Lastly, we have a little baby Siamese kitty named Milo that we just adopted. He is a little ornery but loves to run and play with both other cats and my daughter.

We will welcome a new addition to this home with open arms and hearts. I am open to keeping a relationship with pictures and emails and visitations with the birth family as the birth family would like. And I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this profile and considering our family as the adoptive family for your child.
