Gabrielle Uhrin
Gabrielle graduated from John Carroll University in 2016 with a bachelor’s in children and family psychology. Gabrielle knew from a very early age that working with children and teenagers is something that she always wanted to pursue as a career. After graduating college Gabrielle continued working as a nanny for a close family until she moved on to working with Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services as a Child Protection Specialist is 2018. There, Gabrielle found her passion for foster children and the role one can play in their lives with consistency and genuine care. She enjoyed being that person that children could turn to for help, to ask for advice, and to look to. Gabrielle took her relationship with the children on her caseload very seriously. She took pride in knowing that she can communicate with them and understand them on a level that makes them feel seen and heard. Gabrielle, then, took a break from child welfare and joined the restaurant business in 2022 for a different scenery thinking that, maybe, child welfare was not meant for her. It was soon shown to her that her passion for foster kids is the path that she is meant to be on. Thus, bringing Gabrielle to join Caring for Kids in 2024. Gabrielle appreciates the opportunity she gets to be an impact on kids' lives again. She is passionate about being an advocate for them and being the person to help find ‘forever families’ for children. One fun fact about Gabrielle is that she was adopted by her father after he married her birth mother. Gabrielle is thankful that she has that background to bring to her role as a recruiter for Wendy’s Wonderful Kids.
