Laura Merklin, MSW, LSW

Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Communication in 2008 from Ohio University, and her Master’s in Social Work from The Ohio State University in 2010. After completing her graduate program Laura worked as the Youth, Teen, and Family Director at a Jewish Community Center in York, Pennsylvania. Laura supervised the after school program, directly worked with children during summer camp, planned holiday celebrations, and was the youth group advisor. Laura joined the Caring for Kids team in January 2015 as part of the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids recruiter program. She works with youth in county custody who are at high risk of aging out of the system without a permanent home. Laura very much believes that every child deserves a forever family, and is excited to work on behalf of an organization that believes “unadoptable is unacceptable”.
